Old Forester Birthday Bourbon is released every year on September 2nd in honor of our founder, George Garvin Brown’s birthday.

We encourage you to reach out to your local retailer. We do not allow pre-orders of our limited release products. Please do not call the distillery to order Birthday Bourbon.

The Old Forester Distillery and gift shop will not be open on September 2nd. Please note, there will be 24-hour on-site security, and all guests trying to form a line will be asked to disperse.

While shipping alcohol is legal to certain states we do not allow the preorder or shipping of our limited release products like birthday bourbon.

Because the distillery is still closed indefinitely, there will be no specialty tour or experience offered on September 2nd. Birthday Bourbon is released every year on September 2nd. The Old Forester Distillery receives a limited amount of this highly anticipated expression. In addition to what the distillery receives, Birthday Bourbon is distributed nationally through our distribution partners. Once our distribution partners receive their allotment, they distribute those allotments within their regional markets.

The Old Forester Homeplace operation continues to be closed indefinitely due to COVID-19 (coronavirus). This includes the gift shop, George’s Bar and our tour/tasting experiences. Our goal is to minimize the risk to employees and guests and help lower the probability of the spread of the virus to our employees, their families and the communities where we operate. We are currently working with our Risk Management department and as we are able to develop experiences in accordance with established safety guidelines, we will make those experiences available for booking at oldforester.com.
